DEAD TO THE CORE
is composed of 5 musicians with very deep roots in the Dead/Jam music world.
Ronnie Penque (bassist/vocals)
has played with Melvin Seals and JGB for several years as the Jerry voice and bassist after Jerry's passing. He has also been in the most recent incarnation of the New Riders Of The Purple Sage as their bassist/vocalist since 2005. His other bands of note are the well known Dead band "Ripple", the NRPS tribute "Panama Dead" and the "Ronnie Penque Band" known for Ronnie's original compositions and interpretations of Dead, NRPS, JGB and more!
Clay Cassell (drums/vocals)
is a veteran drummer and fine lead singer in the vein of Bob Weir. He has been playing the music of the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia since he was a founding member of the band "Ripple" in 1978. He is also well known for his participation in the NJ based "WigJam" and the acoustic "JEB Jones Band" and many other projects.
Jeff Pearlman (keys/vocals)
He has played in many Dead and jamband related projects since such as "WigJam", "Panama Dead", "The Ronnie Penque Band", "The Katie Pearlman Band", "The Toni Brown Band", "The Electrix", "Tiberius", “One-Eyed Jack" and many more! Jeff is honored to have shared the stage with Merl Saunders, Tom Constanten, Buddy Cage, David Nelson, Vassar Clements and more.
Steve Bernstein (lead guitar)
Steve has extensively played with numerous Dead cover bands throughout the tri-state area such as The Spadtastics, Joe Gallant's Illuminati Orchestra, CT Grateful Dead Allstars, Trouble Junction, Mojo Hand, Rainbow Full Of Sound and Dead To The Core.
Brendan Connolly (rhythm guitar/vocals)
One of the best Bobby Weir players in the tri-state area. A perfect fit for this line-up of seasoned Grateful Dead players.
